fave products // pai skincare for sensitive skin

Finding quality skincare for sensitive skin can be a tricky task, but I always find myself returning to Pai Skincare for their soothing, effective products. Whenever I feel like I want to get back to basics, or just give my skin a break from too many active ingredients, Pai is one of my go-tos, and always leaves my skin feeling calm, hydrated, and happy.

Pai’s Light Work Rosehip Cleansing Oil works to remove dirt and other build-ups and gently refreshes your complexion, all without stripping it of the essential moisture it needs. It’s packed with rosehip fruit extract and omegas 3, 6 & 9 to nourish the skin and give you a radiant glow. I love that it’s gentle enough to use on the eyes, and there’s no need to scrub or rub too hard to achieve clean skin. Just massage the oil onto your dry face (enjoy the at-home spa experience!), and rinse with warm water to reveal soft, smooth skin.

I love to follow it up with Pai’s Instant Kalmer Sea Aster & Schisandra Ceramide Serum. It’s truly the perfect serum for hyper-sensitive skin, combining both anti-aging and soothing ingredients that work to give you that ideal glow. Sea aster and wild oat are super calming, and help reduce redness and irritation, while ceramides help strengthen the skin barrier. Instant Kalmer leaves my skin feeling super hydrated, and I love that it’s free of fragrance and alcohols! This is also a great serum to reach for if you suffer from rosacea or eczema.

Pai Skincare’s mission is to do the right thing for you and your skin. By creating products that are so natural, ethical and sustainable, they have goodness built right in. What could be better?!

fave products // milk + honey exfoliating cleanser & toner

There’s something about finding the perfect balance between products that are gentle yet still exfoliate and thoroughly cleanse the skin. Ya know what I mean? I’ve been a fan of milk + honey products for a while now- I love that their formulas are totally clean without any harsh or irritating ingredients, but are also super effective. I’ve been incorporating their Exfoliating Cleanser & Exfoliating Toner into my routine lately, and I love how quickly I’m noticing a difference in my skin. The cleanser works to revitalize dull & tired skin, and improve the appearance of pores, leaving you with soft, glowing, healthier-looking skin, while the toner uses a blend of powerful clarifying ingredients to gently resurface the skin. Mandelic acid, a gentle type of alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) made from bitter almonds, helps with hyperpigmentation and signs of aging, while black willow bark extract, which contains a natural form of salicylic acid (BHA), helps to promote cellular turnover. Plus, tea tree essential oil helps to reduce inflammation to support clearer, smoother skin. While you may worry that all these clarifying ingredients can cause dryness- fear not. Aloe vera juice and hyaluronic acid help to nourish and hydrate the skin, making this duo quite the one-two punch! If you’re looking to switch up your cleanser and toner, I definitely suggest checking out milk + honey products.

fave products // osmia organics naked body mousse & oil

If you have dry, sensitive skin, or even if you don’t, I cannot recommend Osmia organics naked collection enough. I’ve been using both the naked body oil and naked body mousse over the last few months, and my skin has felt smooth and hydrated all throughout the dry LA winter.

These Osmia products contain no harsh fragrances, even essential oils, since those can be irritating for those with sensitive skin. The only thing you’ll smell is the scent of the natural base oil blend, which is made of 11 incredibly nourishing oils (nine are certified organic!), including organic jojoba oil, velvety kukui oil, organic rosehip seed oil, and soothing organic hemp seed oil.

I recommend applying the oil on clean, wet skin just after you get out of the bath or shower- it absorbs better this way, and leaves you with silky, smooth skin! The mousse is rich, yet fluffy, and often times combine the two for ah extra dose of nourishing hydration.

Because these are free of irritants, the naked body oil and mousse are safe for use on excema, psoriasis, newborns, and nursing mothers! My toddler gets a nice slathering as I get him out of the bath or shower as well. Baby soft skin for everyone- yes please!

fave products // babor calming rx microsilver concentrate & soothing cream

As someone with sensitive skin, I’m always on the lookout for gentle, yet effective skincare products that have soothing, calming effects. Germany’s leading professional skincare brand Babor’s Calming RX range, designed for dehydrated, irritated and reactive skin types, checks all those boxes and more! I have to say, I’ve been really pleased with the results I’ve gotten after incorporating some of the products into my routine. First up, the Babor Calming RX Microsilver Concentrate is a facial serum (housed in small glass ampoules!) that provides relief and soothing hydrating to sensitive skin. Microsilver powers this intensive formula, which also helps reduce redness and irritation, leaving you with a more calm and balanced complexion. I like to keep a couple ampoules with me in my handbag for whenever my skin needs a little extra love (aka an influx of hydration!). After allowing the serum to be absorbed into the skin, I follow it up with the Babor Calming RX Soothing Cream (or Soothing Cream Rich!). This nourishing moisturizer is enriched with ingredients like plant-based Neuroxyl, antimicrobial Microsilver and fatty acid-packed Evening Primrose Oil that deeply hydrate your skin. It also helps keep your skin’s natural moisture barrier in tact, which is so important for overall skin health! My skin feels velvety smooth and supple after applying, but not greasy in the least. No surprise that Babor products are free from fragrances, synthetic colourants and preservatives, and are cruelty-free as well. Thinking I should add the Babor Calming RX Soothing Cleanser to my routine as well?? I bet I’ll love it as much as I loved the other Babor cleansers I’ve tried!

fave products // iS clinical warming honey cleanser

iS Clinical is up there with some of my all-time favorite skincare brands. Known for their technologically advanced treatments using the best active ingredients, they make some of the highest quality, most effective products on the market. I have yet to be disappointed in anything I’ve tried, so I was pumped to try their Warming Honey Cleanser. I love the facial-like experience I get from this cleanser- the rich, luxurious honey gel texture gently warms and exfoliates my skin, leaving it smooth and refreshed! I slowly massage it onto my face, and sometimes even leave it on for a bit to prolong the spa vibes (and for that extra dose of hydration). Papaya enzymes work their magic to help unclog pores, and honey is a well-known antioxidant for fighting blemishes, making this an ideal cleanser for those with problematic or hormonal skin. I find myself reaching for the Warming Honey Cleanser on the regular, blemishes or not, especially as the the weather turns cooler. It just feels so right! Definitely jump on the iS Clinical bandwagon if you haven’t already!

fave products // dermalogica ultracalming serum concentrate & calm water gel

If you have sensitive skin and have trouble finding products that actually work, but also don’t irritate your skin, I have just the stuff for you! Dermalogica makes some killer products- I’ve been a fan of their vitamin C serum for a while now- but they also make a line of UltraCalming products that is specifically catered to those with sensitive skin like mine! Using their exclusive UltraCalming complex, which contains soothing ingredients like oat, botanicals, peptides, evening primrose oil, as well as sunflower seed & avocado extracts, these products aid in easing sensitization and defending against future problems. The UltraCalming Serum Concentrate has been a true god-send. This powerhouse serum works to calm and soothe sensitive skin (especially after any non-invasive facial treatments), and helps interrupt the inflammatory triggers that cause flare-ups to begin with. I like applying a thin layer over my entire face post-cleansing, then following with the UltraCalming Calm Water Gel. This water-gel moisturizer feels practically weightless, yet still adequately hydrates and moisturizes my skin. Thanks to apple fruit extract, cactus pear extract, and glycerin, this skin-quenching fluid is able to support a healthy moisture balance while defending against dryness. And dual hyaluronic acid technology works to increase and lock in moisture throughout multiple layers of the skin’s surface! Yes please! I was also more recently introduced to their newest addition, the UltraCalming Redness Relief Essence, which is the perfect combo of toner and serum. It’s lightweight enough to feel super refreshing, yet concentrated enough to visibly reduce redness and sensitivity. Apply it post-cleanser, right before your UltraCalming Serum Concentrate. I’m curious if you’ve tried out any other products from the line? I’m debating which one to try next! Maybe the cleanser? Let me know!
