Hi y’all! I’m back after taking most of the summer off from blogging & posting- it was a busy one over here with work stuff, baby stuff, toddler stuff… You know the drill! Fear not, however, as I’ve been testing fun new products along the way regardless ;) Glo Skin Beauty is a new-to-me brand that comes highly recommended from dermatologists, and actually got its start in the treatment room 20+ years ago. They recently launched some innovative products that caught my eye, so I jumped at the chance to try them out. Formulated in partnership with leading NYC dermatologist Dr. Dendy Engelmen, these products utilize EGF, an epidermal growth factor that promotes cellular repair and also happens to be 100% vegan! The Glo Skin Beauty Bio-Renew EGF Drops are formulated as a serum that work to restore, strengthen and rejuvenate the skin. Cell regeneration is accelerated, leaving you with overall smoother, glowier skin. Plus, the drops contain a multi-peptide complex that minimizes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, all while hyaluronic acid adds ample hydration! Sign me up! I’ve been using the product for a few weeks now, and I have to say I’m super pleased with the way my skin is reacting: my skin barrier feels (and looks!) rejuvenated and more hydrated. Feel free to start slowly incorporating this into your routine by mixing a few drops into your other moisturizers or serums for a boost of restorative benefits. Or you can choose to use it full strength as a solo reparative serum- your choice!

Following the EGF Drops, I’ve been finishing my skincare regimen with the Glo Skin Beauty Bio-Renew EGF Cream (a Dermstore exclusive!). This newly launched moisturizer is a next-generation, skin barrier repairing treatment that’s clinically proven to deliver stronger, brighter, smoother, and firmer skin in just one month (!). Along with the vegan epidermal growth factor, the cream contains a phyto-retinol complex, which is a plant-based retinol alternative that is safe for use while pregnant and breastfeeding. It has many of the same benefits of retinol, but without all those nasty side effects. During pregnancy, I’m all about a product that can work it’s retinol-magic without containing potentially harmful ingredients, so this was a big bonus for me. After a few weeks of using the EGF Cream, my skin looks more even-toned, less dull, and more glowy all around! Not to mention that smooth, baby’s bottom texture! I definitely recommend trying these out, pregnant or not! They’d make a stellar addition to any top shelf.

As someone with sensitive skin, I’m always on the lookout for gentle, yet effective skincare products that have soothing, calming effects. Germany’s leading professional skincare brand Babor’s Calming RX range, designed for dehydrated, irritated and reactive skin types, checks all those boxes and more! I have to say, I’ve been really pleased with the results I’ve gotten after incorporating some of the products into my routine. First up, the Babor Calming RX Microsilver Concentrate is a facial serum (housed in small glass ampoules!) that provides relief and soothing hydrating to sensitive skin. Microsilver powers this intensive formula, which also helps reduce redness and irritation, leaving you with a more calm and balanced complexion. I like to keep a couple ampoules with me in my handbag for whenever my skin needs a little extra love (aka an influx of hydration!). After allowing the serum to be absorbed into the skin, I follow it up with the Babor Calming RX Soothing Cream (or Soothing Cream Rich!). This nourishing moisturizer is enriched with ingredients like plant-based Neuroxyl, antimicrobial Microsilver and fatty acid-packed Evening Primrose Oil that deeply hydrate your skin. It also helps keep your skin’s natural moisture barrier in tact, which is so important for overall skin health! My skin feels velvety smooth and supple after applying, but not greasy in the least. No surprise that Babor products are free from fragrances, synthetic colourants and preservatives, and are cruelty-free as well. Thinking I should add the Babor Calming RX Soothing Cleanser to my routine as well?? I bet I’ll love it as much as I loved the other Babor cleansers I’ve tried!

fave products // w3ll people bio brightener & bronzer creams

I'm pretty minimal with my makeup looks. Curled lashes (with or without mascara), concealer where necessary, and a bit of highlighter on my cheek and brow bones makes me feel fresh and not too done. Highlighters come in powder and cream forms, so depending on your skin type and preference, there are several great options to choose from. W3ll People Bio Brightener Cream is an easy-to-use illuminizing cream stick, so no brushes or sponges are needed- just draw it on and blend out with your finger. It instantly gives you that hydrated, youthful glow, but without any heavy or greasy residue left behind. If you're looking for a little more of a sun-kissed color, then the W3ll People Bio Bronzer Cream is just the thing! I like applying this just below my cheekbones and up to my temples, creating that nicely bronzed, yet subtle tan complexion. These two products complement each other perfectly, so keep both in your bag to give you the ideal glow you crave, anytime!

fave products // perricone md cold plasma+ face serum & eye cream

I’m all about a super-concentrated, highly potent serum or cream. You know the ones. They’re packed full of multi-tasking, powerhouse ingredients that promote youthful, radiant skin and give you that glow you crave. I’m happy to say that Perricone MD Cold Plasma+ Face Serum and Eye Cream do exactly that, plus more. They use a proprietary liquid crystal (fancy!) delivery system for faster and deeper penetration of ingredients. Practically any skin issue, like loss of radiance, uneven texture or tone, discoloration, redness, enlarged pores, fine lines, wrinkles, or loss of firmness, can be vastly improved with these babies. I love that the face serum is super smooth and creamy (feels like a finishing cream!), but the concentrated formula gets to to work quickly boasting all its anti-aging benefits. Copper tripeptides, vitamin C ester (the highly stable, easily absorbable form of antioxidant-rich vitamin C), and omegas 3, 6, and 9 come together to work their magic here, and the proof is in results. My skin has been feeling super plump and baby soft. Really so, so supple! The eye cream uses the same ingredients, but also targets the appearance of dark circles, puffiness, and crow’s feet! Both Perricone MD products are fragrance free, making them perfect for those with sensitive skin like mine. A little goes a long way, so although the price is steep, each jar should last you quite a while. Let me know if you end up trying them out- you won’t be disappointed!

fave products // glossier cloud paint blush

For most of my makeup-wearing life, I've tended to use powder blush. I think just because it was the most easily accessible type of blush on the market, but nowadays, it seems the options are endless! Enter Glossier Cloud Paint. This cream blush is literally one of the easiest products to apply- just dab it on with your fingers! I like to use a combination of two (Haze & Beam), and blend them together a bit. You could even choose a darker color for more of a contour, while using a lighter color as a highlighter. Cloud Paint's sheer and buildable gel-cream formula is inspired by gradient pink New York City sunsets, so there are several beautiful shades that work for all sorts of skin tones. I love that it gives me a healthy, subtle hue (which can be more-so if you desire!), and creates that perfect flushed glow on my cheeks! Plus it has collagen to help plump the skin, which is just an extra fun bonus. A little goes a long way, so each little tube should last you a while. I think now I need to add the other two shades (Haze & Puff) to my collection, and play around with all four :) Glossier is one of my fave go-to makeup brands- read my other posts about them here and here! Perhaps I need to try out some of their skincare products as well? Off to research!
